Aunt Kara arrived in one piece tonight despite being encased not unlike a sausage on the small regional jet between here and NH. It was pretty windy upon takeoff, but quieted down once they got closer to DC. The girls are doing well today, but unfortunately, Mommy has acquired a fast moving intestinal sickness which has kept her locked in the attic and in bed (except for frequent and harried trips to the bathroom).
It's cold here tonight and windy (and that's not just because Kara is here ;) ). Tomorrow we take the girls for a weight check, but cancelled the Out Came the Sun visit until Evelyne can recuperate.
Also, spoke with Dr. Cockerham (pediatric cardiologist) regarding the surgery date. We were concerned that they won't be 5 kilos (11lb) by then, but he said that was just a target weight and that it likely wouldn't matter that much. We'll discuss it with Dr. Jonas (the surgeon) on Feb 8 when we meet him for the first time. So, as of now, we're still on target for an early March surgery for the kids. Keep your fingers, toes, and any other appendages you can cross crossed!
