Fun-filled weekend

Well, we're sad to say that tonight it Aunt Kara's last night here in DC. She flies out tomorrow morning to head back to NH. It's more than a little frustrating that she's going straight to the ski hill to pick up Charley from ski lessons. Why can't we go to the ski hill!?!?

We've had a great weekend. We're happy to report that Evelyne is past her intestinal distress, although she still seems to be fighting something. She's heading into the doctor's tomorrow to see if she has something more serious like strep. We hope not!

After Kara arrived, we gave the girls their first full bath! Until now, we've been sponge bathing them, but this time was the real deal. Both kids did really well, but I think Margot liked the bath the best. Here are a couple pics and movies of the event:

After all the bath fun, we just hung out and watched the snow fall. The girls are getting really chatty and really smiley. At one point, they were hanging out next to each other and really looking each other over. The whole time they were chatting up a storm. They were saying hello! Here are a couple shots of Aunt Kara with the kids. They really like Aunt Kara a lot. I think she has gotten the most smiles so far!

Even though we didn't get much snow, it was fairly heavy and actually mixed with freezing rain a bit. It hung on the trees beautifully. We mostly stayed in by the fire, played games, and yes, fed the kids. We fed ourselves with our reserve stockpile thanks to friends, family, and especially MeeMaw (Grandma Baumrucker). She made us a TON of delicious food for our freezer and our tummies. We took a picture to show off our supplies. Note the boxes and boxes of breast milk we've amassed (that's not beer in the beer boxes, unfortunately!):

On Saturday, Grandma Michelle Soule (Aunt Kara's Mother-in-law) and Uncle Scott and Aunt Melody Speaker (Aunt Kara's brother and sister-in-law) came to visit. Melody is pregnant with a little boy who's due in June. Here are some shots from the day:

Today, we went to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Melody at their place. It's coool. Here are some shots from their place:

Tomorrow, I'll take Kara to the airport on the way to work. Yia Yia is in town and visiting Pam, George, Amelia, and Kyle. She'll stop by to watch the girls while Evelyne heads to the doctors. Here's the obligatory mask picture of Evelyne. It's a tradition that anyone who dons the mask must be pictured here on the blog: <%popup(20050130-Kara and Bath 020.jpg|450|600|I don't feel so good.)%>
